

{"id":1786,"date":"2023-07-05T13:52:29","date_gmt":"2023-07-05T13:52:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ail.lt\/projects\/?p=1786"},"modified":"2026-02-03T15:42:33","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T15:42:33","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=1786","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">About<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Studio<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"gmail_default\">\u200b<\/span>Isora x Lozuraityte Studio for Architecture (IXL) was founded by architects Petras I\u0161ora and Ona Lozuraityt\u0117 in 2014 in Vilnius, where it is based.<span class=\"gmail_default\">\u200b \u200bCreative duo exercise a cooperative practice, linking the spheres of architecture, public space and infrastructure, design, art, landscape and environments of display.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">IXL studio has actively participated in numerous interdisciplinary collaborations on environments and objects of vide variety of scales, both nationally and internationally in dialogue with other practices within the field of art and architecture.<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">Creative practice integrates urban narratives, public spaces, landscapes, infrastructures, domestic environments, social and cultural connections, material flows and experiments with the matter in scales of exhibition, interior design, public furniture and architecture of the wider environment.<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">With a dedicated focus on material experimentation and contextual analysis IXL explore architectural concepts that foster sustainable, dialogical and unique environments.<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">IXL was awarded the 2021 Vilnius City Municipality Award of St. Christopher for \u201ca synergy between conceptual art and architecture.\u201d In 2023 they together with partners (collaboration KILD) were awarded as emerging architects of the year by the Lithuanian Union of Architects for <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=1621\">pedestrian bridges in Kaunas<\/a>. They have created award-winning architectural designs for riverfront public spaces and bridges, sustainable strategies for culturally charged places such as <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=687\">Optic FF (2018)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=1410\">Optic house (2023)<\/a> in Vilnius, and reactivation projects for buildings and public spaces for interdisciplinary communities, including development of artist community <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=1001\">SODAS2123 complex and culture garden<\/a>\u00a0and its latest intervention <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=1960\">&#8220;Oven Pavilion&#8221; (2024)<\/a>. I\u0161ora and Lozuraityt\u0117 have created architecture for numerous important exhibitions, including <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=1254\">the Baltic Triennial 14 (2021)<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=1429\">Jonas Mekas and the New York Avant-Garde, National Gallery of Art, Vilnius (2021)<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=1167\">a permanent exhibition \u2019Display of Lithuanian art&#8217; at the National Gallery of Art<\/a>, Vilnius; exhibition environment and public spaces for <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=1250\">&#8220;PROTEST ART: The Rebels of the Soviet Era&#8221;, Lithuanian National Museum of Art, Vilnius (2020)<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=1283\">&#8220;the Lithuanian Space Agency&#8221; and Julijonas Urbonas\u2019s installation at the Venice Biennale of Architecture (2021)<\/a>. They were the curatorial team behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=69\">exhibition &#8220;Shaping the Landscape&#8221; at the National Gallery of Art<\/a>, Vilnius (2017), and <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=96\">co-curators of the Baltic pavilion at the 2016 Venice Biennale Architettura<\/a>. The duo has collaborated with Pakui Hardware for many years, contributing to the implementation of large-scale installations in multiple European institutions, including architecture for <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=82\">&#8220;Vanilla eyes&#8221; in Vienna (2016)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=1112\">&#8220;Underbelly&#8221; in Leipzig (2019)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ixl.studio\/projects\/?p=1366\">&#8220;Virtual care&#8221;
